La noticia de la orden de captura del actual alcalde del distrito de Shapaja, Segundo Ramón Ríos Arévalo, investigado por apropiarse de más de medio millón de soles del estado y haber presuntamente falsificado firmas para desviar ese dinero a su cuenta personal, entre los años 2016 y 2018, se dio a conocer el último 23 de julio 2019. Dicha información se regó como reguero de pólvora. Y desde ese entonces hasta la fecha, el alcalde Ramón Ríos Arévalo, se halla en condición de no habido.
