Pedro Bogarín Vargas, ha sido elegido en segunda vuelta como el nuevo gobernador regional de San Martín, la población le ha dado su respaldo con el 50,68% lo que representa 190, 831 votos, fue ganador en 6 provincias de la región, en Tocache, Mariscal Cáceres, Huallaga, Bellavista, Moyobamba y Rioja.
¿Pero quién es Pedro Bogarín Vargas?, nació en Tocache el 09 de junio de 1954, tiene 64 años de edad, 35 años casado con María Victoria Urmachea, un amor que viene desde los claustros universitarios, tres hijos todos ellos profesionales el mayor Yuri, médico de profesión egresado de la Universidad Cayetano Heredia, actualmente en Alemania realizando su especialidad como neurocirujano, el segundo Yvan, economista de profesión egresado de la Universidad católica del Perú y diego el menor también economista, egresado de la universidad de Lima.
Pedro Bogarín estudió primaria en su tierra natal Tocache, fue becado para continuar con sus estudios secundarios en el Primer Colegio Nacional de nuestro país Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe con sede en Lima, posteriormente estudió medicina en la Facultad de San Fernando de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, desde 1988 hasta la actualidad ejerce su profesión como médico cirujano en el hospital de Tocache.
Fue alcalde de la provincia de Tocache, del año 2003 al año 2006, elegido mediante elección popular por la lista independiente “Ahora el Sol”, en una época convulsionada, sin presencia del Estado, ni mayores presupuestos ni recursos, como alcalde tuvo que ingeniárselas para salir adelante y como visionario y estadista que es, diseña una estrategia basada en la erradicación de la hoja de coca por el cultivo alternativo es decir se reemplaza el cultivo ilegal por el cultivo del cacao y el café, a esta estrategia le denominó desarrollo con Paz y bienestar, y que hoy es conocido a nivel mundial como el Milagro San Martín.
En el año 2010 por primera vez postula en aquel entonces a la presidencia del Gobierno Regional representando al PAP, sin resultado positivo, en el 2011 postula al Congreso de la República también por el APRA, no logra el objetivo, luego vuelve a postular representando al APRA a la Gobernación regional en el 2014 y tampoco logra un buen resultado quedando en el segundo lugar, y como en la tercera es la vencida esta vex sale elegido Gobernador Regional representando al movimiento político Acción Regional.
Pedro Bogarín Vargas, sueña con una región próspera moderna y competitiva, y hoy luego de ganar las elecciones y convertido en la máxima autoridad que guiará el destino de la región está en sus manos lograr el objetivo.
Hoy con el objetivo cumplido la población ha volcado su esperanza a esta nueva gestión, esperando que los ofrecimientos se cumplan y que al terminar su mandato la población sienta que el respaldo en las urnas ha sido correspondida, por el momento solo le toca festejar cual quiera sea el ritmo, y esperamos que al final de la campaña el festejo continúe.
