55 años de historia deportiva sanmartinense, podrían quedar en la nada. El inicio del fin parte de la intención de algunos asociados en la repartición, en lotes, de este campo deportivo adquirido ha mediados de los años 60 por grupo de entusiastas muchachos que decidieron fundar el glorioso Club Deportivo Sport Boys de la ciudad de Tarapoto.
Así, que en el año 1966 se funda el Club Deportivo Sport Boys de Tarapoto, y luego en 1967, adquieren este terreno de 8 mil 943 metros cuadrados aproximadamente. Con el paso de los años se hace buenos jugadores llegando a ser bicampeón en 1983 y 1984, del campeonato en la liga distrital de la Copa Perú, para en 1992 alzar por última vez el trofeo. Hechos de algarabía que dieron nacimiento a la célebre frase “shuta Boys”
El club deportivo Sport Boys de Tarapoto, se crea no solo con el entusiasmo y el aporte de un grupo de muchachos, sino como una institución constituida al amparo de las leyes de la república, sin fines de lucro y al margen de toda actividad político-partidarista o de índole religiosa (artículo tercero). Se forma como una asociación civil sin fines de lucro. (artículo 2°) con fines y objetivos del fomento y promoción de actividades deportivas culturales, sociales y recreativas. (artículo 7°) así como señala su estatuto. Modificado en su totalidad el 17 de mayo del 2018 en asamblea general extraordinaria.
