¿Médico obstetra o únicamente obstetra?

¿Tienen los profesionales obstetras la facultad de denominarse médicos? ¿Están autorizados a diagnosticar patologías o enfermedades que sean ajenas a la función específica de su profesión?
O es que acaso los y las obstetras estarían incurriendo en el delito de intrusismo profesional, un delito tipificado en el Código Penal, en el que se incurre cuando una persona que afirma realiza actos propios de una profesión que requiera de un título que habilita el ejercicio de la misma.
Según lo manifestado por el presidente del cuerpo médico del hospital de contingencia del MINSA Tarapoto, médico Anderson Sánchez Sotomayor. Existen algunos obstetras que irresponsablemente estarían utilizando la denominación de médicos, una profesión que a decir del profesional en la salud, a los obstetras no les corresponde.
El problema es aún peor, pues existen pruebas contundentes, de que algunos obstetras, tecnólogos, y hasta podólogos, es decir aquellos que tienen funciones específicas en el tema de la salud, dan diagnósticos sobre enfermedades o patologías ajenas a su profesión, dan recetas y hasta emiten certificados médicos, usurpando funciones que no les compete.
Justamente es el obstetra Denis Navarro Torres, el más cuestionado por este tema, ya que como se puede ver en este reportaje no solo emite recetas sobre males de la salud que no estarían en su rama, sino que firma como médico.
