Muchos creemos que lo poco que tenemos, es insuficiente para poder estar dentro de nuestras casas cómodos, resguardados y con algo de alimento en nuestras mesas, acatando el estado de emergencia y toque de queda, dispuesto por el gobierno. Pero en Tarapoto también existen aquellos que nada tienen. Que, por esas cosas del destino, duermen en frías veredas, bajo noches heladas que en estos últimos días se han presentado en nuestra ciudad.
Como por ejemplo esta pareja conformada por un indigente y una mujer con alteraciones mentales, quienes pasaban sus noches en una vereda, abrigados solo por harapos, que utilizaban como cobijas. Haciendo de este espacio público, su lugar para dormir.
O el caso de este anciano de 83 años, a quien encontraron solo, durmiendo en medio de un montículo de chatarras, entre fierros viejos y basura, que le servían de paredes y de habitación en su humilde morada.
Así también están aquellos encontrados en otras veredas, durmiendo en grupos, buscando tal vez un modo de acomodarse en el pavimento, rezando que no caiga una lluvia. Y qué decir de este hombre, un limeño, que fue atrapado por esta cuarentena en esta ciudad, donde no tiene familia, donde no conoce a nadie. A él lo encontraron durmiendo en este banco de cemento del boulevard de Tarapoto.
Todos ellos, incluidos dos extranjeros, un ecuatoriano y un argentino, fueron conducidos la noche del último lunes 20 de abril hasta el denominado albergue transitorio Kaytawasi, por un grupo de trabajadores municipales que esa noche recorrió las calles de Tarapoto en busca de gente necesitada para luego de desinfectarlos, y hacerles las pruebas rápidas respectivas de COVID 19; albergarlos y brindarles salud, comida y una cama caliente en este nuevo espacio acondicionado por la Municipalidad provincial de San Martín, como un refugio temporal para quienes menos tienen, en esta cuarentena.
