Estos balones de oxígenos hicieron noticia la primera semana de junio de este año, cuando con bombos y platillos el PEAM hacían su entrega al hospital de Moyobamba. Pero, No pasaron muchas horas, y el cuerpo médico de este nosocomio hacía la devolución de dichos balones por ser de segunda mano, estar repintados, por presentar abolladuras, y no contar con las válvulas de seguridad; lo que es peor estos balones que debieron llegar abastecidos habían llegado al hospital, completamente vacíos.
Estos balones y accesorios el PEAM los adquirió de la empresa Montañita Soluciones en Arquitectura y Construcción SAC, una empresa dedicada al rubro de la construcción. Cuando en ese momento la prensa buscó respuestas sobre este escandaloso caso desde el PEAM se dijo que ese suertudo proveedor, era uno que conformaba la larga lista de posibles empresas que le proveen al gobierno regional de San Martín.
Increíblemente, esa misma empresa volvió a aparecer, vendiéndole al Gobierno Regional de San Martín termómetros digitales presuntamente sobrevalorados, los mismo que incluso se oferta en las redes sociales a precios de menor costo.
