Mucho se ha hablado del Gran Pajaten, un santuario que es comparado con Machu Picchu. El complejo arqueológico se descubrió casualmente por el alcalde del distrito de Pataz, Carlos Torre Alva en 1963. Un gran descubrimiento que se está perdiendo en el tiempo.
