El gobierno de Perú decretó el estado de emergencia para hacer frente a la pandemia del coronavirus, situación que se viene cumpliendo desde el 16 de marzo del presente año.
De igual manera se ha decretado el aislamiento social obligatorio, que es una medida que ordena a la población a quedarse en sus casas, hasta el 12 de abril luego de su ampliación, según el Decreto Supremo Nº 044-2020-PCM, el objetivo es prevenir la propagación del coronavirus (COVID-19).
Para complementar el Estado de Emergencia, desde el 18 de marzo, se prohíbe a todos estar en las calles de 8:00 p.m. a 5:00 a.m., mediante la inmovilización social obligatoria ordenada por el Decreto Supremo N° 046-2020-PCM.
Sin embargo, todas estas medidas de emergencia para muchos ciudadanos es letra muerta, muchos se resisten a acatar, generando todo un problema y riesgo para la población que si le cumple.

PNP Alpino FLORES VALLES, recepcionó una llamada telefónica de un morador, haciendo de conocimiento que unas personas de sexo masculino se encontraban libando licor en un inmueble, ubicado a inmediaciones del Polideportivo de esta localidad, amerito del cual el mencionado S.PNP al mando de S3. PNP Jerson GUEVARA FARFAN, constatado que en un inmueble se encontraban libando licor dos personas de sexo masculino en compañía de dos féminas, quienes al ser identificado indicaron llamarse Juan Dedicación TOCOTO PILCO (37), Alcalde de Picota, y Elvis Dante CUSMA QUINTANA (36), quien es el chofer del alcalde.
